Spectra Magazine App Brings A Fiction Subscription To Apple Devices
Anyone that thinks sci-fi or fantasy fiction is dead, hasn’t heard of Spectra Magazine. If you’re into science fiction, fantasy, horror, or the broader genre of “speculative fiction,” be sure to give Spectra Magazine a look.

Read the first two stories in Spectra – both outstanding. Was put off by the price at first, but took the plunge because I love the fiction magazine like Analog and Asimovs. Definitely wasn’t diasppointed, and when you look at it, it’s only $2.33 per issue as you’re getting a six month subscription.
Couldn’t put this down, and looking forward a lot to the next issue.

Spectra Magazine: Speculative Fiction Mag Just for Mobile
Personally, I believe that you can never have too much sci-fi or fantasy to read…which is why I was happy to hear that Spectra Magazine is taking a stab at the e-magazine market!
If you’re into science fiction, fantasy, horror, or the broader genre of “speculative fiction,” be sure to give Spectra Magazine a look.

More magazines go digital in iPad Apps of the Week
This is where magazines heavy on word content (like books) and not so dependent on photographs and illustrations are headed. Nicely done.
DaveAllen – Appolicious.com User Review (5 out of 5)
Might sound a bit expensive at first glance, but when you consider you’re actually buying six months worth of magazines its a really good deal. The stories are superb, easily as good as any other fiction magazine out there. They’ve got Hugo award winners writing for them, so this is definitely recommended to anyone who loves reading science fiction, horror or fantasy. Love it.
App Store User Review:
Wonderful content beautiful layout (5 stars)
The folks at Spectra have really embraced the digital format for their magazine. The iPad and kindle versions both take full advantage of the capabilities of their respective mediums.
But ‘special effects’ alone aren’t worth the price of admission (I’m looking at you, Phantom Menace). Without content, Spectra would disappear rapidly from the App Store.
The editors at Spectra have pulled in a fantastic selection of stories and articles making multiple readings a joy. New, upcoming and well known authors grace the digital pages and each turn of the electronic page reveals well written and an eclectic collection of scientific and science fiction with a few startling horror entries to boot.
The premiere issue is a stunning achievement and if the subsequent issues are as rich and well put together as this first entry, I predict a well earned success.
Buy it. Read it. You’ll be glad you did!
